Day 284 – 3/3/12 – Pray for Henryville

Sinking Spring to Morgantown; Distance = 17 Miles; People Met = 11+

The day started with a men’s breakfast at Sinking Spring United Methodist Community Church and ended with a potluck dinner at the Bristol Village retirement community.  We met many kind people as always, but our thoughts are not about that today.

Henryville, Indiana was one of our more memorable stops, ending with a talk at the Henryville High School.  That high school was destroyed by yesterday’s tornadoes, as has much of the town.  We’ve got word that our hosts in Henryville are OK, but now begins the process of a community to rebuild.  Please keep them in your prayers.

Bristol Village, home of active seniors in Waverly, Ohio, was delighted to have you join us for our weekly potluck: we appreciated your sharing tales & pictures of your “adventures” with us. May your message take root!

It is March 14th and I am wondering where you are? Are you all right? I hope you are not sick. Perhaps the problem is my very minimal computer skills, and that explaines why I have no recent news of you three – since March 3rd! But I am praying (literally!) to get some news soon!

      Greetings Nancy,
If you are referring to email updates, I generally send them out after completing a state. Ohio was the longest one remaining since we left Kansas. We came into the state on February 16 and won’t be leaving Ohio until …. TOMORROW! You’ll get an email update soon after. Thanks for keeping track of us.

It was good to see Ky! Look foreword to seeing all three of you. Hope you have a wonderful Easter. Sending love and hope for a spectacular scenery, warm sun and the blessings of the day.

I have enjoyed following your walk across the country! One of my favorite things to do has been to drive (or train, when I have enough money) across the country to see and visit various friends and relatives and to visit sites I have visited before and want to revisit. I love seeing the varied scenery of our country and the cities, towns and farms along the way. I have never walked it, however, and so have not had the privelege of meeting so many people along the way! But your walk has been a vicarious trip for me and I have enjoyed it greatly! Thanks! Nancy
