The Kindness of Angie

Despite our good fortune on Trail Angel Day, we encountered very few people in Nevada.  We did go through some ranch lands, which led to our encounter with Angie.  I was still feeling the effects of an intestinal virus; when we came upon an outhouse near the dirt road we were following I could not resist the opportunity.  As luck would have it, the owner Angie came by right at that time.

Angie’s husband was a deep sea fisherman and she was by herself at the time.  That did not deter her from inviting us over to her house, apart from the trailer and outhouse we stumbled upon.  We enjoyed lunch with her and then she invited us to use their bath house, fed by natural hot springs.

Granted, I don’t think an older looking gentleman and a woman intimidates anyone, but the ability to embrace passing strangers like Angie did is one of the brightest parts of our humanity.
