Day 332 – 4/20/12 – Georgetown

Swains Lock to Thompson Boat House; Distance = 16.6 Miles; People Met = 4

We met a handful of people today enthused about what we were doing (photos below).  One of them, Cindy Stewart, walked with us for a good ways.  We always appreciate the company when that happens.  Cindy has had a variety of occupations, from photographer to journalist to exotic trip leader for a nonprofit.

We encouraged Cindy to contact us or leave a post on our blog.  We’ve encouraged that a lot lately, but few have taken us up on it.  If people left comments on the blog it would help me preserve the memory of them, particularly if they detailed the circumstances of our meeting when they commented.  Each day there’s probably around a hundred people we’ve met along the way visiting the web site.  It’s never too late to leave a comment!

Ky picked us up at the Thompson Boat House and brought us to Cindy’s very close friend from college, Jean Fregeau, in Ellicott City.  We will spend some rest days here.

Cindy Stewart walked with us for awhile

Mandy Mitchell was glad she asked us what we were doing

Jane Gamble was quite enthused about our walk

Very nice to meet you and Cindy yesterday. Thanks for saying hi and thank you for doing your pilgrimage. Perhaps “YES!” magazine would enjoy doing an interview of you two. I’m glad you made it to Greenbelt as it is one of the more unique towns in the DC area. Best of luck on your remaining month of walking. Kent McCullough

      Greetings Kent,
Thanks for helping us find our way down by the lake. Also, thanks for the tip on YES! and Servas. Kudos and good luck with your 10K fun runs.
