Unnamed Kindness

I don’t know what to make of a story about a middle school boy who purposely “threw” his match to another boy with cerebral palsy.  Here’s the link.  It’s a heartwarming video, and we know the name of the cerebral palsy boy, Jared Stevens.  What is not apparent on the page with the linked story is the name of the kind boy.  Nine comments then proceed to refer to the kind boy anonymously (um, you might want to skip over the first comment).

I don’t know what to make of this.  I certainly believe in the notion that kindness should not be treated as heroic, but rather something we should expect out of ourselves under normal conditions.  Yet should kindness be anonymous, too?  I have to say I found this story both heartwarming and strange.
